Waterbridge Belgian Butter Waffle Thins are a delicious baked good made with full cream butter that melts in your mouth. Made from a secret Belgian family recipe from the 1800s, the butter waffle is called a 'lukke' in Westhoek and was originally given as a New Year's present. The waffles were baked starting on Boxing Day and continuing to New Year's Eve. It was definitely a time-honoured tradition, and each house had its own private recipe (and a customized waffle iron to press the dough!) that was passed down from generation to generation. Now, you can easily treat yourself to a 'lukke' any time of the year thanks to Waterbridge.
