Waterbridge Pontefract cakes

These Pontefract cakes taste somewhat like the ones we used to get in England years ago. The town of Pontefract is famous for its licorice plants used in making the candy. One cannot help but compare the original candy with the Waterbridge ones. Although not the same, they are quite acceptable, albeit with the fibrous texture that were not obvious with the originals.
