Imagine this: the sun setting over the lake on a summer evening and your whole family around the fire. Just as you go to sit down with a blanket, you notice your sister has gotten suspiciously quiet, moved as far away from you as possible, and has a collection of sticks by her feet. Looking around, you notice your family is all gradually moving in her direction. Right before you can ask, your cousin runs out with marshmallows on his fingers and chocolate around his mouth. Of course! It’s the perfect night to share a s’mores kit!

A little bit of crunch, a gooey marshmallow, and some melty chocolate all wrapped together into crunchy graham crackers for bites of deliciousness. But why are they called s’mores? Well, let’s dive into the summer classic a little further.
May I have Some More?
The idea of a s’more comes from the term ‘some more’ which implied that most people eating them were never going to stop at only one (I mean, who could blame them). Although the origin of the s’more is a little hazy, one of the first documented recipes for them came from the Girl Scout guidebook in the late 1920s. The original creator is quoted to be a troop leader who was attempting to feed a crew of hungry girls with marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate around a fire. The name was invented because they all had asked her for ‘some more’ while she was cooking them. Nearly a century later, the classic campfire treat continues to inspire new flavours and creative ways to enjoy it.

A Waterbridge Twist:
The classic s’mores recipe calls for a bar of thin milk chocolate, a bag of graham crackers, and a bag of marshmallows. In the S’mores Kits, we have three different flavours: strawberry chocolate, caramel chocolate, and classic milk chocolate. In these kits, you get chocolate bars, a bag of fluffy marshmallows and a bag of graham crackers. Now instead of weaving your way through the aisles of a grocery store, you have everything you need right at your fingertips in the same box. The boxes even close with a latch for later use! The only thing these kits don’t have are the fire pits and sticks.

These wonderfully gooey and chewy snacks are best enjoyed with family and friends, whether you’re camping, having a BBQ, or enjoying a cozy night in. Even if you don’t have a fire, there are instructions to make them inside that give you the same gooey and crunchy outcome. If you’re feeling really adventurous, try to mix and match with our strawberry mallows to replace the marshmallows in the kit that pairs with the strawberry chocolate, or mix and match with a Belgian dark chocolate bar to get the s’more that will make you want some more.
