Sustainability In The Sweets Industry

Sustainability is more than a buzzword at Waterbridge. It’s an important part of our culture. Since we opened our doors in 1987, we have been concerned about how our company affects the environment. That’s why we adopt sustainable processes, and eco-friendlier products and packaging, whenever we can.

One of the biggest examples of sustainability at Waterbridge comes from our choice of supplier for our Waterbridge English products. These traditional sweets include or popular Allsorts, Winegums, Mini Allsorts, Fruit Pastilles and Dolly Mix. Each English sweet in this category has been produced with sustainability in mind. Some of these processes include:

  • A measured, targeted carbon footprint reduction program that has been put in place across all operations to achieve the best-tasting traditional sweets with the lowest effect on the planet. Sweet Sustainability

  • All paper and card-based packaging materials comes from FSC sustainable and/or managed sources.
  • Whenever possible, only natural colours and flavours are used.

Waterbridge Travel Tins candies are manufactured by a supplier that uses alternative energy sources such as solar energy power, rainwater harvesting and thermal residual heat utilization, as well as innovative waste management techniques. Our partner supplier for Travel Tins also supports global community initiatives and social commitments.

If sustainability is as important to you as it is to us at Waterbridge, we encourage you to look for the Waterbridge label the next time you visit your Canadian retailer. Rest assured, you’re getting a product that not only tastes exceptional, but is also good for our communities too.
